Lab Results And Testing Transparency
Quality Is Something We Can't Live Without - And We Prove It
Transparency you can trust. CBD you can feel.
CBD should never be a mystery. At Kyoto Botanicals, every oil, gummy, and cream is tested by independent, ISO-accredited labs to verify exactly what’s inside — and what’s not.
Without third-party testing, CBD products can be inconsistent or unsafe. That’s why our commitment to transparency goes beyond industry standards. And if you want to start learning more about lab testing, here are a number of key resources:
- The Importance of Third-Party Testing for CBD Products — why testing matters and how it protects you as a consumer.

What We Test For
- Potency - CBD + minor cannabinoids, THC content for accurate, effective usage
- Contaminants - heavy metals, pesticides, herbicide to protect your health
- Residual Solvents - traces from extraction to make sure it is clean & natural
- Microbial Safety - mold, yeast, E. coli for public safety and prevent spoilage

FAQs About CBD Lab Results (COAs)
What is a COA (Certificate of Analysis)?
A COA is a third-party lab report that verifies what’s in a CBD product (CBD potency, other cannabinoids, and THC) and checks for common contaminants. It’s the most reliable way to confirm a product matches the label.
Why do CBD lab reports matter?
CBD products aren’t FDA-approved or consistently regulated, so a third-party COA is the clearest proof of safety and accuracy. A real lab report helps you confirm potency, validate “THC-free” claims, and check screening results for things like heavy metals, pesticides, solvents, and microbes.
Where can I find the lab report for my CBD product?
Right on this page. Match your product and lot number (sometimes listed as “Batch” or “Lot” on the label), then open the corresponding COA.
How do I match my product to the correct lot number?
Look on your bottle, box, or jar for a Lot/Batch number. Find the same number in the lab results list on this page. If you can’t locate it, contact us and we’ll help you quickly.
How do I read CBD lab results?
Start with the cannabinoid potency section to confirm the CBD amount matches the label. Then review the THC line (often listed as Δ9-THC, THCA, or “Total THC”). Finally, scan the safety panels (heavy metals, pesticides, residual solvents, and microbial testing) for a “Pass” result.
Does a COA prove a product is THC-free?
A COA can verify that THC is not detected (or below the lab’s reporting limit) based on the cannabinoids test. If you’re specifically avoiding THC, look for results that show Δ9-THC, THCA, and Total THC as ND (not detected) and confirm the product is made from broad-spectrum (not full-spectrum).
What’s the difference between broad-spectrum and full-spectrum on lab tests?
Broad-spectrum CBD is formulated to remove THC while keeping other cannabinoids and terpenes. Full-spectrum CBD typically contains measurable THC (even if it’s within the legal limit), which can show up on a COA and may matter for sensitive users or drug testing concerns.
How often do you test CBD batches?
We test batches with an independent, third-party lab and post the results here so you can verify what you’re taking. If you ever want help finding the right COA, reach out with your product + lot number.
What happens if a batch fails?
We don’t sell it. Period. If anything doesn’t meet our internal standards, it doesn’t ship.
Are lab results the same as FDA approval?
No. Third-party testing is different from FDA approval. COAs are a transparency and safety step that helps you verify potency and screening results, but they are not a medical endorsement.
