Best CBD Oil? Compare Price per mg, THC per Bottle and Carrier Oil
This is a side by side look at 13 CBD oils from 8 brands, using only what each brand publishes on its own website: total CBD, CBD per mL, carrier oil, USDA organic status, price, cost per mg, free shipping and what each brand says about THC. No rankings and no scores. I make CBD oil too, so I kept this to the facts and laid out how I gathered them, so you can check every number yourself.

Sorted from lowest to highest cost per mg. For each brand we compare the products closest to our sizes (25 mg gummies in a 30 count, 30 mL oils), and most brands sell other sizes too. Other brands' one time prices were checked on their own websites on October 24, 2026 and can change. Kyoto Botanicals prices update automatically from the store. Free shipping and THC for other brands are what each brand states on its own website.
How These CBD Oils Were Compared
For each brand I picked its 30 mL bottle closest to 1,000 to 1,500 mg of CBD, and I included more than one size where a brand sells several strengths in the same bottle. Prices are the one-time price on each brand's own website (not subscription or member pricing), checked October 24, 2026. Serving size, carrier oil and organic status come from each brand's product page and label. THC and free shipping are what each brand states on its own site. I did not link to other brands, so search the product name if you want to check a number, and if something has changed, email me at info@kyotobotanicals.com and I will fix it.

What to Look for When Comparing CBD Oils
Cost per mg and Bottle Size
Divide the price by the total mg of CBD in the bottle. It is the only fair way to compare a 900 mg bottle against a 2,250 mg bottle. In this set, the lowest cost per mg came from the high potency full spectrum oils from Lazarus Naturals, especially the 120 mL bottle. Ours are 5.27¢ per mg for the Orange CBD Oil and 5.44¢ for the Organic Mint CBD Oil. If you want to see what a bottle costs you per day at your dose, use my CBD price calculator.
Serving Size and CBD per mL
Almost every oil here is 30 mL, but the CBD in each mL runs from about 30 mg to 75 mg. A full dropper of one oil can have more than twice the CBD of another, so look at mg per mL, not just the size of the bottle. Our mint oil is 1 mL = 30 mg and our orange oil is 1 mL = 50 mg.
Carrier Oil: MCT, Olive or Hemp Seed
The carrier oil is what the CBD is mixed into, and it is most of what is in the bottle. In this set you will find MCT oil (from coconut), extra virgin olive oil and hemp seed oil. Honestly, for me the choice is mostly about flavor. Both olive oil and MCT oil are healthy fats and both have their benefits. Olive oil with mint is richer, with more mouthfeel and an earthy taste. MCT oil with orange is smooth, easy and fresh, and it is gone before you know it. I go deeper on this in organic MCT vs organic olive oil, and I show how I take it in this short video.
USDA Organic Certification
USDA organic is a certification, not just a word on a label, and every step of making and labeling the product has to be certified to carry the seal. Four of the eight brands here list a USDA certified organic oil, and Lazarus Naturals says its oil is organic. Our Organic Mint CBD Oil is USDA certified organic. Our Orange CBD Oil is made with organic ingredients, but the label goes on at a facility that is not certified, so it cannot carry the seal. Kind of silly, but those are the rules, so I list it as not certified.
THC per Bottle and the December 11 Hemp Rule
Full spectrum oils carry THC on purpose. Lazarus Naturals lists about 1.75 mg of THC per serving, which is about 52 mg in a 30 mL bottle. Cornbread Hemp lists up to 2 mg per serving, up to about 60 mg in its 1,500 mg bottle. Starting December 11, 2026, a hemp product with more than 0.4 mg of total THC in the whole container no longer counts as hemp under federal law. I break that down on my hemp ban page, and the full spectrum THC math is in Will CBD Make You High?
What THC-Free Means on a CBD Oil Label
There is no legal definition of THC-free, so every brand writes its own. Ours test non-detect (ND) for every THC variant at SC Labs in Denver, and counting THC as if it sat right at the lab's detection limit, the worst case is 0.22 mg in a whole bottle. When an oil says THC-free, ask for the lab report and look at the detection limit.
Free Shipping by Brand
Free shipping in this set starts anywhere from $40 to $75. If you are buying one bottle under a brand's free shipping line, you pay shipping on top of the price in the table. Our free shipping starts at $40.
Kyoto Botanicals CBD Oils: Mint or Orange
We make two oils, and the choice is really about taste and strength. The Organic Mint CBD Oil is 1 mL = 30 mg in USDA certified organic extra virgin olive oil, 900 mg in a 1 oz bottle for $49.00. The Orange CBD Oil is 1 mL = 50 mg in MCT oil, 1,500 mg in a 1 oz bottle for $79.00, so it suits people who already take a higher dose. I take a tincture right after dinner most nights and have for about 10 years. Both are broad spectrum, vegan, gluten free and test non-detect for every THC variant on every batch. Here is what a couple of customers wrote, word for word:
This is the most pleasant tasting and effective CBD that I've used. I highly recommend!
BEST CBD on the market. Clean ingredients and works wonders
How to Choose the Right CBD Oil
- Lowest cost per mg: look at the high potency oils at the top of the table, and check their THC before you buy.
- Flavor: olive oil is richer and earthier, and MCT oil is lighter and cleaner.
- Organic: look for the USDA seal, not just the word organic.
- No THC: look for non-detect (ND) on the lab report and check the detection limit, not just THC-free on the label.
- Dose: check mg per mL so you know how much CBD is in each dropper.

CBD Oil Comparison FAQ
Which CBD oil is the best value?
Compare cost per mg, which is the price divided by the total CBD in the bottle. In this comparison, checked October 24, 2026, the lowest cost per mg came from the high potency full spectrum oils from Lazarus Naturals, at 2.00 cents per mg for the 120 mL bottle and 2.67 cents for the 30 mL. Ours are 5.27¢ and 5.44¢ per mg. Check THC, carrier oil and free shipping too, since cost per mg is not the whole story.
How much CBD is in a dropper of CBD oil?
It depends on the strength. Most oils here are 30 mL bottles, but the CBD per mL runs from about 30 mg to 75 mg, so a full 1 mL dropper of one oil can have more than twice the CBD of another. Our mint oil is 1 mL = 30 mg and our orange oil is 1 mL = 50 mg.
What is the best carrier oil for CBD?
There is no single best one. The common carriers are MCT oil, extra virgin olive oil and hemp seed oil. Both MCT and olive oil are healthy fats with their own benefits, and for most people the choice comes down to flavor. Olive oil is richer and earthier, and MCT oil is smoother and lighter.
Does CBD oil have THC?
Full spectrum oils contain THC on purpose. Broad spectrum oils are made to remove it, and brands define THC-free in different ways. The lab report for your lot number is the only way to know. Ours test non-detect (ND) for every THC variant.
Will full spectrum CBD oil be legal after December 11?
Starting December 11, 2026, a hemp product with more than 0.4 mg of total THC in the whole container no longer counts as hemp under federal law. Full spectrum oils in this comparison list around 1.75 to 2 mg of THC per serving, which adds up to around 50 to 60 mg in a 30 mL bottle.
What does USDA organic mean on CBD oil?
It means the product is certified under the USDA organic program and can carry the USDA seal. The word organic on its own is not the same thing. Our Organic Mint CBD Oil is USDA certified organic. Our Orange CBD Oil is made with organic ingredients but is not certified, because it is labeled at a facility that is not certified.
How long does a 30 mL bottle of CBD oil last?
At one 1 mL dropper a day, about 30 days. If you take half a dropper, about 60 days. The CBD price calculator on this site works it out for your exact dose.
Which CBD oil brands have free shipping?
All of them, at different order sizes, as each brand states it: Kyoto Botanicals at $40 or more, Joy Organics over $40, Lazarus Naturals at $50 or more, cbdMD at $60 or more, Cornbread Hemp over $60, Medterra over $75, Charlotte's Web at $75 or more and NuLeaf Naturals over $75.
Are Kyoto Botanicals CBD oils vegan and gluten free?
Yes. Both our Organic Mint CBD Oil and our Orange CBD Oil are vegan and gluten free.
Can I take CBD oil if I might be drug tested?
My answer is no. If drug testing is possible for your job, your sport or anything else, do not take CBD, including ours. Non-detect means the lab did not find THC down to its detection limit. It is not a promise about how a drug test will read.
